American company 3D Systems Corporation has been voted “Leader in Digital Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping” by Design World Magazine for the second consecutive year. 3D Systems had numerous achievements in 2011, leading the innovation of 3D printing and manufacturing through the development of Stereolithography, Selective Laser Sintering and the .STL file. The company also pioneered the development of large scale manufacturing applications for aerospace, automotive and healthcare industries and small scale printers and design programs such as Alibre 2012 for personal and professional users.
President and CEO of 3D Systems, Abe Reichental was “honoured and humbled” by the award.
