Objet announces new Aussie Distributor – Objective 3D

For those who own an Objet 3D Printer in Australia will know that Objet used to be solely distributed in Australia by XYZ Innovation (a subsidiary of Formero, formally known as Arrk, formally known as Arrk Silhouette, formally known as Arrk, which is a story in itself). And if you read this blog you may also know that Formero was recently swallowed up along with 22 other companies by the USA Giant 3D Systems. But did you know that the 3D Systems acquisition meant that XYZ could no longer sell the Objet range of 3D printers as they compete directly with the 3D Systems Product range. This left Objet with no choice but to find new representation in Australia. And as per a recent press release it appears as though they have found just that….

Melbourne, Australia, February 14, 2012: Objet Asia Pacific Ltd., a subsidiary of Objet Ltd., the innovation leader in 3D printing for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, today announced the appointment of Objective 3D Pty Ltd as the new distributor in the region, reinforcing Objet’s presence in the Australian 3D printing market.  Objective 3D will represent Objet’s full product line for both Australia and New Zealand, offering a full range of both pre- and post-sales service to customers in the region.

From the sounds of it Objective 3D will be servicing the existing customer base in Australia that was built up by XYS. Objective 3D will now be providing sales and support to existing and new customers in Australia. Heading up Objective 3D is Matt Minio who had this to say about the deal:

“We are delighted to partner with Objet, securing the rights to distribute the Objet range in the region,” commented Matt Minio, Managing Director of Objective 3D, “Objet 3D printing systems and materials have been recognised worldwide for their high quality, accuracy, versatility and performance, and we now can bring this value to customers throughout Australia and New Zealand,” he added.

Objets polyjet technology is one of the only printing technologies to be able to blend two materials during the printing process and its great to see that their products will continue to be supported by a dedicated company in Australia.
